OIL - Reset Oil Service
Press and hold the tripmeter button on the speedometer
Switch the ignition to ON
Keep the button held until '.....' appears in the display
Release the button
Switch the ignition OFF
INSP - Inspection Service
Press and hold the tripmeter button
Switch the ignition to ON
Keep the button held until '.....' appears in the display
Release the button
Switch the Ignition OFF
If required clear the 'OIL' indicator from the display as previously described
Switch the ignition to ON
Press and hold the tripmeter button
Switch the ignition OFF
Release the button
Press and release the button
'INSP-1' will appear in the display
Press the clock minute button until '.....' appears in the display
Press the tripmeter button to display 'OEL'
Press the clock minute button to display '.....'
Switch the ignition to ON and wait till 'INSP-0' appears in the display
INSP-2 - Inspection Service
Switch the ignition to ON
Press and hold the tripmeter button
Switch the ignition OFF
Release the button
Press and release the button
'INSP-2' will appear in the display
Press the clock minute button until '.....' appears in the display
Press the tripmeter button to display 'INSP-1'
Press the clock minute button to display '.....'
Repeat procedure to reset 'OEL'
Switch the ignition to ON and wait till 'INSP-0' appears in the display
Golf/Bora (1997-99)
OIL - Reset Oil Service
Press and hold the right hand button on the dash
Switch the ignition to ON
The letters 'OIL' will appear in the display
Release the button
Turn the left hand button on the dash clockwise until '.....' appears in the display
INSP - Inspection Service
Press and hold the right hand button on the dash
Switch the ignition to ON
The letters 'OIL' will appear in the display
Release the button
Press and release the button
'INSP' will appear in the display
Turn the left hand button on the dash clockwise until '.....' appears in the display
If required clear the 'OIL' indicator from the display as previously described.
Golf/Bora (1999-00)
Press and hold the right hand button on the dash
Switch the ignition to ON
The letters 'SERVICE' will appear in the display
Release the button
Turn the left hand button on the dash clockwise until the display resets
Golf/Bora (2000-03)*
Press and hold the right hand button
Switch the ignition to ON
The word 'SERVICE' will appear in the display
Release the button
Turn the left hand button clockwise until the display resets
Switch the ignition off
*On 2000 - models this method will only work on fixed interval servicing. Vehicles on longlife service intervals require specific equipment.
